40 Years Young

As the summer solstice draws nearer, so does Glastonbury's 40th birthday. The festival of contemporary performing arts which this year sees Gorillaz, Muse and Stevie Wonder headline the Pyramid stage, was one of my highlights of summer 2009. Preparation is key to any festival; five nights in a field can take its toll. With a pop-up tent (maybe this is cheating), wellies and copious amounts of sun cream (weather permitting) I'll be ready for whatever the weekend has in store. Fond memories of last year include sunsets at the Stone Circle, the Shangri-La area and a cup of tea and a crossword in the morning.
No doubt this year will be just as good as last; with such a brilliant group of friends and (hopefully) a sunny few days, the 40th year of Glastonbury will be one to remember. All I need now is to get my things packed and to find a good camping spot somewhere on Pennard Hill.
